Geri Halliwell – Italian Hunk and Beautiful Hair!
You would be forgiven for believing that Geri Halliwell really did have it all. She has one gorgeous baby girl, has just got engaged to her Italian hunk, Fabrizio Politi who is a yacht builder with a multi-million pound bank balance! However, the sickening news does not stop there… She has also been seen sporting one of the sexiest and curly hairstyles ever!
Geri Halliwell Latest Hair
We have seen Geri Halliwell with a number of different hairstyles over the years from her transformation from party gal to earth mother. For now however she seems to have found her perfect hairstyle and what a wonderful style it is!
2009 Geri Halliwell Hairstyle
Slightly toned down from the usual red color that we have become accustomed to, Geri has opted for a more blonde look with just the right hint of subtle blonde highlights to tone down the reddish tinge. Alongside this, she had a simple centre parting at Madrid Airport with her latest squeeze and a set of ringlets that looked almost angelic on her tiny face, covered with large, dark glasses.
Geri Halliwell Hair
Despite the stunning hair style, nothing could quite avert the eyes away from the massive rock that she was seen sporting on her left hand, the engagement ring in question of course! For once it is nice to see Geri happy in her own skin and with a hairstyle and a man that really suits her!

Beauty Review: American Beauty
Fabulous Feel Liquid Colour glides on smoothly to give opaque colour with high shine. The formula is non-sticky and just like the name - feels quite fabulous on the lips! I test ran Amaretto, a pretty neutral pink-brown colour that works well on different skin tones. The colour stayed true for the most part, but I found a touch-up was required after about 3 hours. The one thing that took me a bit to get used to was the strong fragrance of the gloss. I like subtle scents to my glosses, but found this one initially overpowering. A minor setback, but the look and feel of this gloss is still a steal for $12 USD (approximately)!
Double Lush Mascara Plus Primer I'm not a usual fan of 2-step primer and mascara products, but I was pleasantly surprised by American Beauty's version. I found the formula gave my lashes much needed volume, versus other 2-step mascaras I've tried in the past. I tried out the mascara in Black, but Double Lush is also available in Brown and Midnight, which is a first that I've seen for primer plus mascara products (usually they're only available in Black). I love what Double Lush does for my lashes, and I'd definitely be willing to shell out the $12 US that this mascara retails for.
Ultra-Easy Automatic Eyeliner (Auburn) The simple twist-up and no-sharpen action of this eyeliner definitely makes it ultra-easy. I had the chance to try out Auburn, a gorgeous maroon brown with faint shimmer that looks particularly lovely on blue-eyed ladies. The creamy eyeliner glided on smoothly and lasted well throughout the day to keep my eyes defined (minor midday touch-up was required though!). This eyeliner is perfect for the no-fuss make-up junkie – no need for sharpening – just roll up and apply as desired!
Pretty Bronze Bronzing Powder (High Summer) Get that coveted bronze goddess look with American Beauty’s Bronzer months ahead of the summer season! The sheer tan brown powder accentuated with flecks of gold sparkle. With just a couple of swipes, you can instantly revive that glow and say goodbye to blah winter-skin (all my Canadians are saying amen right now!). The sheer consistency of the powder makes it very user-friendly to work with – it builds and blends well for a more of a natural appearing non-streaky glow. Dust some of the powder along the collarbones or atop the dĂ©colletage for the piece de resistance!
Beauty Product of the Week: Go With The Grain
What is it? Go With The Grain from mark (an off-shoot of Avon) contains "vitamin-rich adzuki beans and rice bran - two traditional Japanese exfoliators - blended with corn cob provide mild exfoliation." Available online for $9.00.
What did you think? I lived in England when I was a freshman in high school and again while in college. While there, regular trips to the Body Shop were a must. Along with strawberry bubble bath and satsuma lipgloss, one of my favorite Body Shop products was Japanese face washing grains. They exfoliated my skin and felt great...I adored this product, but its no longer available.
However, Go With The Grain from mark is pretty damn close to my once-loved, now gone Body Shop product. In some ways, it's even better. The mark product is better packaged and much easier to use. You just pour out some of the grains into your palm and then add your favorite face washing product. You mix the two together and viola! Your normal face wash gets an instant upgrade. Your face is cleansed and gently exfoliated at the same time.
The package is designed to fit on top of mark's face wash, but since I use Purity Made Simple, the jar just sits on my vanity. The weird "donut-hole" design just makes the bottle easy to hold, especially if my hands are wet.
Final verdict? Go With The Grain does what it says it will: it turns your face wash into a gentle but effective exfoliator when you're wanting to slough away some of your dead skin cells. It's easy to use, it smells good and clean, and the price is right. I recommend it.

Celebrity Hair - Claire Danes Hair – Lady in Red?
Claire Danes Hair – Lady in Red?
A lot of stars wore red to the 15th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards and between Claire Danes, Christina Hendricks and Diane Lane; there was clear winner for the lady in red competition that seemed to be going on. All of the stars seemed to follow the frilly red varieties of dress but Claire Danes completed the look with a hairstyle that was simply divine!
2009 Hairstyles - Claire Danes Hair Latest Hair
First of all, side weeping bangs were the main feature for this glossy look and seemed to be in high fashion at this moment with other female stars such as Kate Winslet opting for the same side swept look. Claire’s bangs were slightly longer however and ever so slightly curled around so that they framed her tiny facial features and strong jaw line perfectly.
Going back to the rest of the style, Claire went for a very sleek and very sophisticated look that would maybe have looked out of place on other young actresses but on this sassy starlet looked amazing. The hair was pulled back in a neat style in almost a chignon type bun at the back of the head but with just a couple of loose tendrils falling down to show off more of her feminine side.
The gold earrings that Claire wore set off her dusky blonde hair color perfectly and with the red dress almost seemed to illuminate a slight red tinge that made her look even more sophisticated and sassy.

Spring 2009 Beauty Trend: Pink Irreverence by Lancome
This collection is the coming together of Aaron De Mey and LancĂ´me. One is dedicated to magnificent and daring feminity; the other is an eclectic make-up prodigy, a master of colors, pigments and textures, who reinvents and twists the traditional codes of elegance.
Charismatic, visionary and free-spirited, Aaron De Mey is one of the most talented make-up artists of his generation.
Born in New Zealand , he quickly set up home in New York where he successfully fused a series of eclectic references. The depth of his creative universe, his contemporary and non-conformist eye and his unique talent will drive him to excel in his art form. Since then, he has worked with the greatest photographers, the most daring fashion designers, and the most prestigious magazines.
Together…
Emanating from this eclectic fusion, a rich, chic and irreverent style, where two star colors meet, reinvented by Aaron De Mey: rose pink and sparkling black, more volcanic than ever.
Ultra-modern, but ever elegant, Aaron De Mey and LancĂ´me share the same ideal: a woman who exudes daring feminity, truly French chic allure, inspired by timeless heroines who have marked their eras with their panache and style, and whose individuality was also inherent in their beauty routines…
The Pink Irreverence collection is cantered on a radical duo of strong colors: pure fuchsia, in homage to the emblematic rose, and sparkling black, inspired by the volcanic sands of Piha Beach in New Zealand , from where Aaron De Mey originates.
Lancome Color Design Quad in Irreverent Madame Limited Edition ($52 CDN): Love, love, love this palette! The colours are gorgeous, ultra-smooth, and long-lasting. You can create endless looks with this palette - elegant with a modern, edgy twist or feminine yet strong with a punk rock flare! The chic black compact comes complete with a mini-makeup guide for creating different looks. You'll definitely give Spring's usual delicate looks a run for its money with this palette - be irreverent in the most beautiful way!
Lancome Laque Liner in Pure Black and Piha Sparkle ($29 CDN): The Laque Liner in Pure Black is rich, wet, and intense. It adds drama to any look and lasts all throughout the day. Piha Sparkle attracts attention to the eye with its delicate sparkle and shine. On its own, it gives a soft finish but applied over the black liner gives the eye rich, eye-catching definition.
(L-R) Lancome Color Fever Gloss in Piha Black ($29 CDN): I wasn't sure how wearable this lip gloss would be but once I played around with it the black hue made more sense to me. Don't be scared of this shimmery black gloss. It goes on sheer and is designed to be a top coat. Use it over any lip product and this shiny gloss will give it some rich depth. It will make light colours darker and darker shades deeper. Be irreverant and stand out from the crowd by wearing this black gloss on its own for a unique twist!
Lancome Laque Fever in Pink My Ride and Furious Fuschia ($32 CDN): Two of my favourite glosses of the season! Pink My Ride is a light pink with a sexy shimmery finish. It the perfect compliment to this bold colour palette. You can also use it to highlight the lips in the center for a voluptuous pout. Furious Fuschia is a bold, striking pink and I love it! It has the most gorgeous shimmer. The texture is non-sticky and has a lasting finish. Laque Fever will eventually be a permanent line with the same colours but in different names.
Lancome Le Vernis in Piha Black ($20 CDN): I tend to not wear black polish on the tips because I feel like it should only be worn on Halloween. Aaron De Mey's take on the black polish is edgier with little flecks of silver glitter. The polish stayed chip-free for 10 days!
Aaron De Mey's debut collection, Pink Irreverance, is available in Canada and online at www.lancome.ca February 2009!
Blunt Bangs for Spring 09
I never know what to do with my hair! When I go to a salon, it usually goes like this:
STYLIST: What would you like to have done today?
ME: Oh, I don't know. I guess just make it blonder and trim it.
STYLIST: Do you want to add layers or change your part?
ME: Sure...whatever...I don't know. As long as my new style is easy to maintain...
See? That's pathetic and hopeless. And I know I am not alone when it comes to hair confusion/fear in the stylist's chair.
Well, I'm finally here to help you and myself. Nicholas Penna, Jr. of SalonCapri outside of Boston is predicting that blunt bangs are going to be hot this spring...and he was good enough to share some tips on how to get this look the next time you go to the salon.
Nicholas Penna, Jr. of SalonCapri:
1. What is the hot style for Spring?
Blunt bangs are the hot style for spring because they add edge to hair. For a long time, soft hair was the trend and now there’s a change with some attitude. Celebrities such as Kate Hudson in the new movie Bride Wars and Erin Lucas from MTV’s newest reality endeavor, The City, are both sporting blunt bangs which makes it even hotter.
2. What hair type does this style work best on?
Blunt bangs typically look best with straight hair that is cut all at one length. However, we've recently seen stars like Kim Kardashian wearing her blunt bangs with wavy hair creating a contrast between the hip, edgy bang with romantic, tousled hair. Another variation to the blunt bang is to incorporate angles that frame your face, such as Anne Hathaway’s haircut.
3. What face shape do these bangs look best on?
Blunt bangs work well for everyone, if done right. Many times, younger people can pull off the style the best, but virtually anyone can sport this look. The best face shape for blunt bangs is a longer, oval-shaped face.
4. What are some other great bang choices for girls who do not have the appropriate hair texture/face shape?
Longer bangs that can be pushed to the side of the face add movement to the hairstyle, such as the side swept bang. This type of bang is the most universally worn and can look great on many different face shapes/hair textures.
5. Additional tips...
Blunt bangs add to style to your look, even when your hair is pulled back into a ponytail. You can just blow out your bangs and throw your hair back. It adds an egde to your look and gives you a change that's not as drastic as a shorter haircut.
I think that this style is definitely going to last well into this season. It is a faddy look, but I think it’s one that will stand the test of time. As it evolves, I imagine people will start to wear the bang in different ways, more tailored to their personality.
There you have it! One great idea for a new Spring 'do!

Beauty Feature: Brow Power!
Just because the economy isn't looking so great doesn't mean your brows should suffer! Empower those brows with beautiful arches and radiant highlights! Anastasia Baked Highlighting Brow Kit ($32 US), just in time for Spring, is a convenient kit for brows and eyes. The uniquely blended terracotta baked trio is perfect wet or dry on brows and eyes for a fabulous wash of shimmer. Known to calm, soothe, and soften the skin it contains the exclusive Balkan Botanical Infusion containing rare plant and herb extracts found only in the rich soil of Romania.
This brow essential comes with 3 brow shades for custom blending and 3 shimmery shadows (champagne, gold, and peachy-pink) to highlight the brow bone or to be applied as a shadow across the lids. I love the natural finish of the brow powders and have been using this everyday since I got my hands on it. The shadows are really pretty but I find the shimmery finish to be a little intense for every day. I find it looks more natural highlighting the inner corner, center of lid and the brow bone. You can also use the brow shades to contour the crease or line the eyes. Cased in a magnetic snap closure with a floral design, it ain't just pretty - the kit is made for beauties on a budget!

Here's what's at stake for the Beauty Pros. The winner...the MVP (Most Voted Pro) and the Sweeps winner get:
- An all expenses paid, three-night stay in San Francisco
- A trip to Sephora University for the Allure photo shoot
- A feature in a Summer 2009 issue of Allure Magazine

Asian Bob Hairstyle
The Asian Bob Hairstyle can be worn in many different styles and colors. Many may elect to wear this style in a solid color, or dual colors. There are many that may choose to mix more than two colors when it comes to this particular style.
The secret of this hairstyle is not so much the color that is elected, but the actual cut and how the colors are worn in conjunction with the cut. As you will see in this Asian hairstyle gallery there are many different types of cuts that the Asian Bob can implement. These cuts include the asymmetrical, concave, and stacked cuts in Bob styles.
The Eyes Have It on HSN
If I had to pick my hands-down favorite beauty product, I'd pick mascara over all others. That might seem weird, especially given my lust for lip products, but mascara is the one product I wear the most often. Even if I'm slumming in an Iron Maiden t-shirt with dirty hair and no other makeup, I'll throw on a fast coat of mascara. It just makes me look a little more put together (even if I'm not!).
Because I'm such a fan of mascara, I've tried a lot of different types of mascaras in my day and have definite opinions on what I like and what I don't. And even though I have a few favorites, I am always eager to try new brands that hit the market.
Over at HSN's continued beauty-lifestyle online series, Faces of Beautiful You, they're featuring two new mascaras...and I'm here to tell you all about them!
IMAN GLOBAL CHIC LONG AND LUSH MASCARA DUO, $19.95
Iman is the stunningly beautiful model and wife of David Bowie. And now she's making her mark in the wonderful world of beauty products.
Her Long and Lush Mascara Duo is an intriguing product. The long, lean, sleek golden tube opens on both ends. On one side, you'll find a luxury defining comb that will add length and separate the lashes. On the other end, there's a more traditional looking mascara brush that will thicken your lashes to pump them up. Using both ends will give you an amazing amount of both length and definition. Iman's product comes in both black and brown.
GLOBAL GODDESS EXOTIC EYES BLACKEST BLACK MASCARA, $23
I've mentioned Global Goddess products before on my blog. They're making products inspired by beauty secrets from around the world.
Their mascara is designed to give you the darkest lashes possible. If you think you can't pull off dark lashes because you're like me, a pale-skinned blonde, you're wrong. No matter what mascara you use, if you're not sure what you like, go with black. I promise it will look good...it will give your eyes an unmatched look. The shape of your eye will be better defined and your lashes will look perfect.
Global Goddess mascara also contains Japanese camellia oil, Indian Mowrah butter, fibron and carbon black and African beeswax. This combination of unique ingredients helps thicken, strenghten, condition and hydrate lashes. You'll have all-day definition and softer, healthier lashes...not bad!

My Work in a Book...
Lee has been a photo-illustrator and photographer in Hollywood for over 30 years....
I did a shoot with my one of my model/actress friends, Jaimarie, with Lee....and then one day my mom was looking through a book she just bought....and lo and behold, her first born's make-up artistry was decorating some pages....
this is the picture that I dolled up....yes it was supposed to look like 80's glamrock! ha ha ha
and he photoshopped all that smoke in.....
here are just a few more pictures...(i didn't have anything to do with these peep's make-up mind you) but I thought it was just interesting to show you the power of photoshop.....before and after photoshop has glammed them up a bit....prepare for the magic....oooh ahhhhh
I call it BP (before photoshop)...
then AP (after photoshop)
even though I've worked with some real artists in photoshop, like Erik Almas....his photos look like surreal, paintings, like a Van Gogh, very beautiful....he does a lot of ads that you see in magazines...
