Spring Preview: NARS Spring 2010

Baby, it's cold outside! Spring weather may not be for another 3 months (please be kind Mother Nature!), but Spring collections will be available soon. Forget about the frigid cold for just a moment and let your eyes gaze over the pretty little things from NARS coming out this Spring!

Inspired by Catherine Deneuve’s role as Lucille in La Chamade, the NARS Spring 2010 Collection features soft, sexy shades that are as elegant as they are versatile.

NARS Camargue Duo Cream Eyeshadow, $32 USD
Named for the deep, dancing, sun-cast hues found in the French river delta, this pairing of golden moss and sienna, with multi-colored reflections comes in a soft-blending, glistening cream eyeshadow formula.

NARS Kuala Lumpur Duo Eyeshadow, $32 USD
Like its Malaysian city namesake, this perfectly harmonized gold infused rose and boysenberry pairing is influenced by contrasts—rich and subtle, traditional yet modern.

NARS D. Gorgeous Single Eyeshadow, $23 USD
This dusty lilac powder eyeshadow yields just a hint of flirtation, but never misses its mark.

NARS Glitter Pencil, $24 USD
This bright sky blue, silver glitter-infused hue delivers powerful, vibrant color that slides on smooth and remains creamy for blending.

NARS Lip Gloss, $24 USD
Easy Lover- Serious luster meets sexy color in this ultra-sheer hot pink lip gloss.

NARS Lip Gloss, $24 USD
Ophelia- This high-shine strawberry nectar lip gloss is deliciously sweet and seductive.

NARS Cruising Lipstick, $24 USD
This subtle, sexy pink lipstick hue provides a sheer natural long-lasting color.

NARS Purple Rain Nail Polish, $16 USD

This intensely gothic purple is a bright and audacious shade destined to become a modern classic.

What do you think of NARS' Spring 2010 collection?

I LOVE NARS shadows and will be checking out Duo Shadow in Kuala Lumpur - such pretty shades. I used to adore NARS lippies but noticed after a few months they started to smell waxy, but I am so crushing on that Easy Lover gloss! And the Purple Rain polish is just fabulous!

The Spring 2010 collection will be available on January 15, 2010 at narscosmetics.com.

Conan O'Brien & little sleep

Monday was one of my most fun make-up jobs ever.....

I got to laugh and put make-up on Conan O' Brien....he is so funny and nice...even when the camera's aren't on.....he is hilarious....I was laughing all day...from the time I met him...to eating Pastrami Sliders that were brought to Conan, and then he said we needed to order more so everyone could try them....and I ate just as many as the men on the crew...ha ha ha ha ha!
I don't normally like Pastrami...but I was muy, muy, hombre..translation: very very hungry!!!
Conan was a phenomenal make-up artist, as you can see in the picture! ha ha ha

And he actually laughed at me...I was like, "whoa, I am a little funny...Conan O' Brien just laughed at something I said!" ha ha ha ha
And since that job, I've been on the.....non-stop train....
I have had about 6 hours of sleep since sunday night....I am not kidding or exaggerating....I do not know how I am actually awake....

and if you watched this video which I believe I did after that shoot one evening....you can see what happens when you drink coffee for the first time in 5 years.....
numbness of the extremities.... and I wanted to leap out of my flesh! ha ha ha ha

Makeup Obsession: Neon Glow of The '80's

Summer is almost over and the '80's (the most fashionable decade lol) has come and gone. But this summer season proved that our obsession of the neon glows of the '80's is still here. From neon greens to neon yellows, these glaring brights came in shoes, purses, clothes and makeup. To bring back these fun shades makeup brands like Three Custom Color Specialists created Light Brights Lipstick which came in the brightest and most wearable shades. I am a HUGE fan and you can read my review here. Then Three Custom did the next best thing - they followed up their popular Light Brights with Light Brights High Shine Gloss!

Packaged in Three Custom Color’s signature sleek tubes with a wand, Light Brights High Shine Lip Glosses are outrageously bright colors with moisturizing, sheer coverage with a hearty dose of sexy gloss - perfect for hot summer days and nights! I say, it's not just for summer but anytime you want a sheer pop of colour on the lips.

Light Brights High Shine Gloss in Area and Palladium ($18.50 USD): Area is a juicy tangerine. The glosses are much sheerer than the lipstick and definitely wearable for anytime of the day. This shade would look great with a smoky or heavily lined eyes in black. The colour is soft but adds some warmth to the lips. Palladium is a hot pink and my favourite! This colour is so gorgeous on and you can actually see it. It's much sheerer than the lipstick but the colour payoff is excellent. It's the kind of pink that makes your teeth look white. The glosses are ultra moisturizing and the shine is super sexy! I'm obsessed with these glosses and swipe it on every chance I get!

Sure, Fall is all about dark noir but I'm sure you'll be seeing a return of the '80's neon glow next Spring/Summer!

Beauty Review: Bronze Me Up With Lise Watier Havana Bronzing Collection

Looking at past photos from the icy cold months, I realized this ol' chick looks better with some colour! Now that there are many bronzing products on the market there's no excuse to look pasty white! Thanks to Lise Watier's Havana Bronzing Collection I can look sun-kissed and luminous all summer long. The collection includes Havana Dry Oil Body Glow, Havana Precious Bronzing Pearls, and Havana Sun Dust Bronzing Powder.

Havana Dry Oil Body Glow ($38 CAD): If you want gorgeous bronzed looking skin, this bottle of sparkling bronze oil will not only enhance but highlight that summer glow. This beautiful body oil is easy to apply and melts right into the skin with no greasy residue. It is formulated with a light sunscreen and enriched with emollients and Vitamin E, leaving your skin lusciously smooth. Great for all over the body especially on your legs! A summer must-have!

Havana Precious Bronzing Pearls ($38 CAD): These pretty little pearls in matte and pearl finishes are a combo of pink, white, and brown giving you the perfect tan! Buff it onto all over your face in a circular motion or apply only where the sun naturally hits you. I also love brushing it over the lids for a shimmery finish and for a little sparkle on the decollete. This works beautifully on all skin tones.

Havana Sun Dust Bronzing Powder ($30 CAD): This duo bronzing powder has become a staple in my makeup bag. On one side you have a matte bronzer (although it doesn't stay matte for two long and on the other side you have a shimmery bronze powder that can be used for colour on the cheeks or eyes or as an overall glowy finish to your face and body. I thought the sparkling powder would be too much for me but it looks really beautiful on the skin. Ever since I've started wearing it, I've been getting lots of compliments! I like to contour with the matte side and add the shimmery side to my cheeks and eyes. You can also mix the two together for an all-over even finish. It comes in a chic bronze compact with a decent size mirror for touch-ups. My kind of bronzer!

Beauty Review: Lise Watier La Toscana Summer Collection Makes Me Dream of Italy!

Colours inspired by the beautiful land and seascapes of Tuscany, Lise Watier La Toscana Summer collection brings us hues and textures to touch all senses! La Toscana includes two eye colour palettes, Mer and Terre, Glitter Pencils, Pink Marble Blush, and Toscana Gloss Sticks.

Terre Eye Palette: I received this gorgeous shadow palette of metallic greens, one emerald the other woodsy, and a silky copper and polished beige. This palette offers many colour combos that you can wear during the day and into the night. The texture is velvety soft and long-lasting. I love the sleek copper packaging and convenient mirror for quick touch-ups. For day, try the beige shade as your base, emerald on the lid, and add definition with the woodsy green. For night, apply the woodsy green all over lid and into crease for sultry sexy eyes and apply the copper shade on the bottom lash line to make eyes pop.

Vert and Violet Glitter Pencils: When it comes to glitter pencils, I'm usually "take it or leave it" but mostly "leave it". I know lots of women love glitter pencils and why not? They add an element of fun to otherwise boring makeup. In my experience, the glitter particles irritate my eyes, fall off onto my face, and feel pretty rough gliding on. I was skeptical when I received Vert and Violet but I was pleasantly surprised! The glitter didn't fall off and the pencil applied smoothly with no tugging. Vert is a lovely olive green and Violet is a deep purple. If you're scared of wearing colour all over your lids, this is the perfect alternative. The glitter particles are also micro, definitely not over-the-top. Don't be afraid to glitz it up at night with these glitter pencils!

Pink Marble Blush: If you like shimmery, glowy cheeks Pink Marble Blush gives you subtle definition with a radiant finish! It is the perfect combination of pink and copper: pearly pink, deep pink, and golden pink in a marbelized spiral. These lovely shades of pink are the perfect compliment to colourful eyes.

Gloss Stick in Orange: I am a sucker for glossy lipsticks! Toscana Gloss Stick is formulated with an olive oil base so you can imagine how ultra moisturizing and creamy it is on your lips. The colour is sheer but definitely stronger than your average gloss. The shine doesn't last too long but the colour does. I love Orange, a shimmery orange-coral. It is the ultimate summer shade!

La Toscana is a Limited-Edition collection and is available now at select locations in North America. For more information visit www.lisewatier.com. Happy shopping!

Beauty Review: Nars Takes Me To South Beach!

I've never been to South Beach, but I live vicariously through my precious Nars Multiple in South Beach (it's almost the same right??)! This is one product that I always have to have in my makeup bag. For a long time it sat at the bottom of my bag untouched. The Multiple is iridescent and beautiful on flawless skin, but shimmery textures can enhance problem areas. A spotlight on a red, irritated pimple? Not so pretty! Thankfully, my skin has made peace with me and I've been able to resurrect this little tube of radiance again.

The Multiple is a cult classic. This cream-to-powder multi-purpose stick is one of the reason's why I fell in love with 3-in-one products. The Multiple comes in many gorgeous shimmery shades. The convenient stick can be easily swiped on the eyes, cheeks and lips - no brush necessary. Blend with your finger and you're ready to go! South Beach is a shimmering apricot that perks you up and gives the skin a sun-kissed peachy glow. I love the way it makes my skin look. It is the perfect colour to compliment bronze skin. It also looks great with a pink blush over top or on the lips with a shimmery gloss over it. On the eyes, it's great as a base for powder shadows. It intensifies the colour and makes it last longer.

It's nice to know I can get a little South Beach sun any time I want!
